Poem: little man

Cry.
Cry little man.
Take your stand, when you can,
But if you can’t
Get on your knees
And ask your God to do what He does best.

In time He will forget you too.

Weep.
Weep little man.
Stand for what’s right, when you can,
But when you can’t
Beat on your chest
And look the righteous in the face.

In time they will wrong you too.

Break.
You broken man.
Right those who rule, when you can,
But when you can’t
Raise your arm
And grit your teeth in disrespect.

In time they will own you too.

Triumph.
You proud man.
Rule yourself, when you can,
But when you can’t
Close your fist
And fight the best way you know how.
